David Tippins served as an NHS Executive Director

Ken Sharp worked as Finance Director for a Belgian building materials company and spent 18 years living in Belgium. Since retirement he has been Chair of Trustees for two defined benefit pension schemes and one defined contribution pension scheme. Hobbies and Pastimes are rugby, cricket, wine, gardening, eating out, theatre and investments.
David Hiddleston joined the insurance industry in 1959, and qualified as a Fellow of The Chartered Insurance Institute. He has held a number of Board level Sales, Marketing and Business Development roles, most recently with AA Insurance and Churchill Insurance. Hobbies include photography, bowls, fly fishing and model railways
Alan English’s background is in electronic design and telecommunications for the BBC (culminating as Head of BBC Telecomms), the Hughes Satellite Corporation and his own telecommunications company, which enabled him to travel extensively in Europe and many parts of the World. Alan is active in sailing, cruising on the Thames, bowls and the U3A.
David Simms is a Chartered Civil Engineer who spent a major part of his career in international contracting with Taylor Woodrow. Latterly he dabbled in water and waste with Thames Water and Veolia. Having lived in Ghana and Trinidad he worked in the Middle East and former Soviet Union.
Now active in U3A and a volunteer manager with Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway.
Kevin Sowden started life in banking, moved into Industry and then after a short period in marketing and then sales he re-focused on Finance, taking an opportunity to move into the then new profession of Corporate Treasury. Kevin helped to promote Treasury’s educational side by organising the Thames Valley region and was appointed a Fellow of The Association of Corporate Treasurers.
After many years with an American multi-national during which period he “survived” Black Wednesday and also chaired The Berkshire Bankers & Treasurers Club, he rounded out his career working with a Japanese company owned by Private Equity.
Kevin’s activities in retirement include fighting the stupidity that is HS2, walking, sailing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is Treasurer of the Amersham Decorative and Fine Arts Society
Peter Crown managed construction disputes and represented clients, main contractors and sub-contractors. He was a construction consultant on the new Hong Kong airportand also carried out audits on Bovis projects for BP within Europe.
Hobbies and interests – rowing at Marlow, volunteer on building maintenance at COAM, 2 allotments and sourcing and sawing wood for his wood burner.
Robert Myers went into Estate Agency straight after leaving Copland school in Wembley, eventually becoming Sales Director with Chesterton of London.
He lived in Pinner until his marriage of 53 years, raising three children who between them have produced 7 Grandchildren. Interests are Bridge, Golf, Rugby. He is also a Member of the MCC.
Barry Walker started his apprenticeship in the 70s, repairing and maintaining black box flight recorders, then spent 10 years installing and maintaining mini-computer systems around the Middle East and Africa for Perkin Elmer, a large Canadian scientific company. Later, he started his own company upgrading laptop computers and during this time, he designed and manufactured a range of add-on disk storage systems and controllers for laptops and PCs.
Based upon his disk storage experience, he was asked to develop Fibre Channel SAN training courses and later developed training courses for Cisco products and systems whilst delivering training to Cisco Sales Engineers, partners and customers worldwide.
Since retiring, he has been actively pursuing his interests in DNA and Family History and is currently a co-convenor for two Cu3a Family History groups as well as providing technical support and advice to Chiltern Probus.
