About us

Chiltern Probus was formed in 2005. We are an association of retired and semi-retired professional and businessmen who join together with the object of providing varied and frequent activities to keep our minds and bodies active, to expand our interests and to enjoy the fellowship of a wide range of old and new friends.

Membership is by invitation to anyone of good character who has had some measure of responsibility, or achievement, in any field of worthy endeavour.

The emphasis is on our club being simple in structure, and free from the constraints and obligations of service clubs which can become time consuming and costly.

Kevin Sowden, Chairman

Our Meetings

We meet on the last Thursday of each month, except May and December, commencing with coffee at 9.30 am. Formal proceedings start with a guest speaker and/or discussion on a topic of mutual interest followed by a short club business session. Meetings close around noon, and are followed by an optional pub lunch.

We also run outings to places or organisations of interest and have a number of activity groups meeting regularly.

Our monthly newsletter archive can be made available on request.

Meetings are held at the Amersham Band Hall,  Rectory Meadow, Rectory Hill, Amersham, Bucks. HP7 0BU on the last Thursday in the month except May and December, when lunches with partners are usually held at Harewood Downs Golf Club, Little Chalfont.
